Finding things

Search, filters, sorting, selections and the keyboard, across every pack you own.

Browse is the library: every asset Tessera found inside every pack, or the packs themselves.

#Assets or packs

The switch at the top changes what the grid holds:

  • Assets: every model, sprite, texture, sound, font and HDRI, each as one tile, whatever archive it lives in.
  • Packs: the downloads themselves, with their covers, what they hold and their license.

The search box looks at file names, folder names, tags and every pack's details, inside archives too. ⌘F / Ctrl+F jumps to it from anywhere. Typing shows suggestions: pages, actions, packs, collections and assets; Enter searches everything.

#Filters

Down the left, and they stack. Each shows how many things it would leave:

  • Type: 3D models, sprites and 2D, textures, UI, sound effects, music, fonts, HDRIs, documents.
  • Format: the file extensions actually present, such as GLB, FBX, PNG, OGG or TTF.
  • Source: the sites and places your packs came from.
  • Creator: who made them.
  • License: what each allows.
  • Genre, style and tags: as recorded on the pack.

Clear puts them all back. Save as smart collection turns what you are looking at into a collection that keeps itself up to date.

#Sorting

Best match, name, newest, size, pack or type. Without search words, best match is simply name.

#One asset, several formats

A model that ships as FBX, GLB and OBJ is one tile, with its formats listed. Tessera knows which of them a game wants and copies the right one.

#The keyboard

  • Arrow keys move the cursor through the grid.
  • Space or Enter opens what the cursor is on in the viewer.
  • S stars what is picked out, or what the cursor is on.
  • ⌘A / Ctrl+A picks everything the search matches, however many that is.
  • Esc puts everything back.
  • Click a tile to open it; hold (or right-click) to pick it out; ⌘/Ctrl click adds to a selection, shift click takes a range.

#What you can do with a selection

Star it, add it to a collection, copy it into a game, or move it to the bin. The bar along the bottom says how many are picked and what they come to.
